I graduated from Duke University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and earned my Doctor of Medicine degree from The Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University in 1994.  I completed my ophthalmology residency in 1998 from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN. In 2002, I joined Dr. Charles Tara, the founding physician of Hawthorne Eye Associates. I reside in Clemmons with my family and enjoy tennis, golf and fishing. I am a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the North Carolina Medical Society. I specialize in cataract surgery, including the placement of premium lenses to correct astigmatism and to provide multi-focal correction of vision, which can reduce the need for glasses after surgery.  I also treat glaucoma, taking advantage of minimally invasive glaucoma laser and sugical procedures to reduce patients’ dependence on glaucoma medications.
